By  Green Bay Glory

It was a Glorious Sunday afternoon at Aldo Santaga Stadium as the Green Bay Glory defeated FC Pride 2-1 on Fathers Day.

Green Bay jumped on the scoresheet in the 33’ when Shannon Becker picked out Jaci Mielke on the left side of the field, Mielke would chip the ball just passed the Pride keeper to take the 1-0 lead.

After some exchanges by both clubs, FC Pride found the next goal of the match. A great ball flicked on to Miyah Watford allowed her to split the Glory defense and touch her shot just past the outstretched hands of Ashley LeCount in the 61st minute.

Late in the match, Mielke would assist the final goal, as she played a perfect back heel to Anna Boyd who blasted a shot far post to seal the victory for Green Bay.

The atmosphere was tremendous as fans joined The Glory Pound in celebrating the second WPSL victory on the season.

Green Bay is back in action on Friday as they travel to Indiana for two matches against the Pride and Indy Saints FC.

The final home match for the Glory is June 27 at 7:00 pm against Indy Saints FC. Tickets are available on www.greenbayglory.com
