We are thrilled to introduce the newest member of the Green Bay Glory men’s team, Will Smestad! The Appleton native is currently a student-athlete pursuing a degree in Health Science-Pre PT at UW-Parkside. Will has his sights set on becoming a Physical Therapist, with a dream of working with athletes at a high level. His commitment to staying close to the game and helping athletes prevent injuries showcases his love for soccer and his desire to make a positive impact in the sports community.

As a defender with experience playing center back and outside back positions, Will’s journey in soccer began at the age of five and has led him to various achievements, including reaching the NCAA Final Four with Lake Erie College. Off the field, Will is known for his hardworking and goal-oriented nature, as well as his admiration for Tottenham Hotspur and their defender, Christian Romero.

“I wanted to play for Green Bay Glory because of the leadership that is behind it,” says Will. “I met the owners less than a year ago, but immediately I was able to see good intentions to get players to that next level. It is easy to trust and believe in a new program like this when there are true leaders that have credibility and motivation to take something small and make it huge.”

Will is a smart and powerful defender who is sure to make an impact on Glory with his intensity, communication skills, and passion for the game. Additionally, he expressed his excitement about competing with a great group of guys throughout the summer and cannot wait for the team to shock the league and make a great name for Northern Wisconsin soccer.
