Maria Sorensen
We’re thrilled to announce the return of Maria Sorensen to the Green Bay Glory Women’s Team! Hailing from Neenah, WI, Maria brings an impressive 16 years of soccer experience to the team, having started her journey on the field at the young age of 5. A versatile player, Maria shines both as a center and outside back.
Currently pursuing her Nursing degree at Northern Michigan University, Maria embodies the spirit of dedication both on and off the field. Her passion for soccer is matched only by her love for the outdoors and commitment to a healthy lifestyle, including running, walking, and hiking.
Reflecting on her time with the Glory, Maria shared, “The team immediately felt like family. I loved the competitive yet uplifting atmosphere.” Since her last season with the Glory, Maria’s achievements include clinching the GLIAC regular season and conference championship, marking a historic moment for her school.
Maria credits her experience with the Glory for shaping her perspective on the importance of strong relationships and community support, both pivotal on and off the field. Looking ahead, Maria is eager to reunite with her teammates and embrace the challenges of the upcoming season in the WPSL.
Beyond soccer, Maria aspires to bring the same joy and fulfillment to her nursing career as she finds on the field. With her sights set on travel nursing and a passion for helping others, Maria’s discipline and drive from athletics serve as guiding forces toward her goals.
Join us in welcoming Maria back to the Green Bay Glory family!
