The Green Bay Glory finish their preseason schedule with a friendly match tonight against North Shore United U18s. After a come from behind win last Monday in Cedarburg, the Glory look to take the double against a young but talented North Shore squad.
North Shore jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first 20 minutes of the match. Early in the second half, MaKenzie Scholz came off the bench to score two brilliant goals, ultimately, sealing the victory for the Glory.
North Shore's squad is comprised of U17 and U18s girls. The U17s have won two straight Wisconsin state championships and the U18s have won six straight Wisconsin state championships. Both teams play in the US National League, which is the top 32 teams in the country for each age group.
Tonight is the final tune-up before the WPSL season kicks-off this coming Saturday, May 25 against inter-state rival Milwaukee Torrent. The Torrent drew 0-0 their first WPSL match last Saturday against FC Pride at Hart Park.
Fans coming to the match tonight can get $2 tickets if they wear a soccer jersey or any Glory gear. General admission tickets are $5 and if you are already a season ticket holder, you get free access to the match.
Kids who attend can âkick-itâ with the Notre Dame Academy soccer team during halftime as part of the generous opportunity of Notre Dame hosting both Glory friendlies this season.
