Why did you choose Feeding America?
I wanted to do this project because, especially in a time like we are in now, everything is so unpredictable. There are people out there who have no idea when their next meal is coming or how they will even be able to afford food, so I thought I would help. I wanted to give back to my community and help those in need. I wanted to help ease the burden of where and when the next meal will be coming from, so I volunteered my time at the Feeding America food drives.
The food drives were what I really enjoyed because we actually got to see where the food went. We were putting the boxes of food in people’s cars...They were so appreciative of being able to receive the food knowing that they’re going to be okay for another week or whatever it may be...
The experience has been great, I thoroughly enjoyed it! I volunteered about 50 hours over the summer...I would like more to volunteer here because…you can do a little bit and it goes a long way.
I am leaving behind my own mark on the world in my own individual way.
